I was introduced to Tomten by my good friend Mary McCarthy, who volunteers there often. It began with her beautiful photos taken while tending to the animals! Then as my awareness of what they do there grew,and how wonderful it is, I began to send donations. The stories told about life there are sometimes harsh, sometimes heartbreaking; but the care for the animals, the fact that many of them were rescued from dire situations, and the generally upbeat posts from the owner and her staff are what makes it great. I am an animal lover, and I hope one day to visit there.
