My experience with A Mother's Rest has been so much more than I expected or imagined. I have had opportunities to form new and lasting relationships. I've connected with other moms in deep and meaningful ways. I've felt validated and have gained new perspective while other caregivers have shared stories of their personal journeys. Throughout the weekends we've exchanged ideas and information, and we continue to offer support and encouragement to one another even after departing. These retreats offer the opportunity to do anything we need to disconnect, recharge, revitalize and re-energize. You make of it what you want. We can be alone, sit in silence, breathe deeply, reflect, relax, sleep, meditate, read, watch/stream television programs or movies, shop, work on a project, be silly, be playful, take long walks, socialize, explore, focus on a hobby...the list is endless...and all without interruption. I feel blessed to have found A Mother's Rest and I am so deeply appreciative for everything this organization does and offers to caregivers.
