Review for Operation Asha, Chicago, IL, USA

In Operation ASHA during the counseling session, the patient is told that TB is curable, so long as therapy is pursued to the end. Effects of missing a dose are explained. It is made clear that missing doses or leaving the treatment after a few weeks may lead to drug resistance. Each patient undergoes multiple counseling sessions during the course of therapy.
