I visited Chocola, Guatemala in 2010 and witnessed firsthand the positive impact Seeds was already having on the community — and on individual people, particularly women and young children, who are some of the most vulnerable community members. I admired an impressive garden, but more impressive were the clever ways people had learned to grow vegetables in very small spaces and within repurposed containers such as liter soda bottles! I like the Seeds approach of giving individuals, families, and by extension rural communities, a straightforward helping hand so that they can truly help themselves. I saw kindness and transparency in the relationships between Seeds and local Guatemalans. I highly recommend this nonprofit!
