I have had the opportunity to be connected with Horses for Healing from the beginning in 2012. I have been so impressed with the growth and success of this award-winning organization. Individuals, families, and now active military and veterans receive care from a team of trained, licensed, and skilled clinicians. And the wonderful horses at Horses for Healing are active members of the team. Clinical research vaidates and supports the value of equine therapy. This is especially true when evidence-based interventions are utilized when working with PTSD and other trauma based issues, as is done at HFH. Clients learn skills they can incorporate in their lives after treatment is completed. Integrative modalities such as yoga, acupuncture, enhance their recovery. Horses for Healing is one of the best equine therapy programs, and serves as model for others in New Mexico and throughout the United States. In addition to being a Board Member, I am a clinician who has had training in this field.
