I had the fortune of being able to volunteer for a couple of months with FWFP before I adopted my pup Shaia. At the time I was nervous about taking care of my first pup on my own and the folks at FWFP were supportive and encouraging. They suggested I foster Shaia to try out how it felt to care for a pup on my own for a little bit. Once Lisa handed him to me, she said, “this is going to be a foster fail”. It was! He has been the greatest companion to me, and now has a bigger family (another mom and a bigger little sister who is 2). We now live in the country where he has his own field where he loves to chase the squirrels and search for mice and chipmunks. He’s living his best life, and we love him so much. I suggest FWFP to anyone who asks me about Shaia’s rescue story. They were just incredible. I’m so thankful they exist.
