In the words of Shirley Chisholm, if they don't give you a seat at the table - bring a folding chair. Not only has Women of Toledo (WOT) given me my seat at the table as one of their board members at large but they've given me the opportunity to help others create that opportunity for themselves.

Through my service on the board, I've been fortunate to be in the presence of strong women who've mentored and empowered me professionally as well as personally. I have learned to open my eyes, value my worth, and truly see that I am strong enough to embrace my future without hesitation. I've always been the one to encourage and cheer on my colleagues, however I struggled when it came to seeing my own value and self-worth. I now walk confidently with the knowledge that my hard work, compassion, and creativity shows up in everything that I do.

I'm grateful for Women of Toledo, and proud to say that they are the most active women's group in our community. They share vital and easily accessible resources as well as focus on providing inclusive programming, impactful advocacy, and enriching outreach events.
