I have been a volunteer at GREATER CHICAGO CAGE BIRD SOCIETY for a year. My responsibilities as a volunteer include cleaning cages, providing fresh food, water, and cut veggies and fruits.
These tasks are required to be performed on a daily basis.
Volunteer time is also spent engaging with the birds to promote socialization, play and exercise. 
Other responsibilities include general cleaning and organizing equipment and supplies.


Bird shelters are needed due to the high number of relinquished,  neglected exotic birds.

GCCB works diligently to provide a safe and nurturing environment.

This shelter works closely with adoption applicants to provide education about required care, future costs, and behaviors to expect in order ensure the bird is placed into its forever home.


The shelter also provides ongoing education and support to the volunteers.
