Build Health International is one of the most deserving nonprofits I am aware of. The employees don't just work at BHI, they LIVE the mission of BHI! I also support BHI because the diversity of its workforce, and its commitment to hiring people from the countries they serve, to work at the worksites. Their work in the field of global health and healthcare infrastructure takes unparalleled dedication, at times, the necessity of working in dangerous situations. They do all this with grace, humility and dedication that is impressive. I trust them with my donations and my time.

North Shore Juneteenth Association is a growing, thriving nonprofit which "works to create awareness about the Juneteenth holiday, educate the broader community about positive aspects of Black American culture, and dismantle racism by using events and programming as a tool for change." In addition to hosting and promoting many Juneteenth Flag raising events on the North Shore. It creates year-round programming to promote its mission. I first became familiar with the work of Build Health International shortly after the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Their collaboration with Partners In Health, and their ability to pivot from plans to build a 100-bed hospital in Haiti, to the completion of a 300-bed teaching hospital was extremely impressive!
As a retiree, I need to make sure that my limited yearly donations are made to organizations who are good stewards of both small and large donations. BHI’s use of in-kind donations from builders, companies, and medical facilities ensures that stewardship, and a dedication to environmental concerns.
Their partnership with, and employment of people in the countries where they work, shows how dedicated they are to the lives and values of the people they serve.
If I ever win a big lottery prize, my first LARGE donation will be to BHI!
