Review for Love Of Littles Dog Rescue And Foundation, Heiskell, TN, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I had lost my little fur baby several months before I met Karen. When my heart was ready to adopt, I happen to meet Karen in a Facebook group that actually closed that night for good. But, somebody that knew her, that I knew, gave me her contact information. I let Karen know that I was interested in adopting a smaller dog, and because of my physical issues then I couldn't commit to doing long walks everyday.
Within a few weeks, Karen called me and said I have the perfect dog for you. Karen uses a theme when she names the dogs that come as a mom and litter, or a group she rescue. I I'm so tickled at how creative she is with this. She'll have a "breakfast group", or names of characters from the old TV show M*A*S*H". Ellie Mae came from the "southern" group. Ellie was used as to breed in a puppy mill She had just had puppies but was unable to deliver one. Inside the same home, was another dog that just had puppies. Animal control took them all, and asked Karen if Love of Littles would take in all these dogs. Mind you, there still were other dogs in foster care that hadn't been adopted, and dogs and foster care waiting to be transported to the new adopters.
Ellie had to have an emergency spay, and was put on strong antibiotics because of an infection that was the consequence of her not delivering one pup. Rescues don't always get, dogs that are surrendered and come in perfect health, are adorable, and have a great personality. They may get strays from a shelter, or a bad situation or removed from a home from one reason or another. She also gets some lovely dogs, but that's not always the case. But, whatever that dog needs, the medical needs are tended to. The dog will be groomed and chipped, spayed or neutered, Android t in good health, or if they have a chronic issue, it's under control before she lets any of her babies be adopted. Because of Karen and her rescue, Love of Littles, she has volunteers throughout the country. There are different homes that will foster dogs to they are transported to another area, transported to the doctor, or transported to Karen so she can have the medical needs tend to do by the vet she knows. The rescue pays all those bills. And she also have fosters that will be part of the team, kind of like a relay team, that will get a dog from one place after it's been carefully checked out, and evaluated, to an adopter wherever they are in the United States. Someone wanting to adopt a dog fills out an application, and has a home check done. This is another big area that Karen is incredible. Karen makes sure that the adopted dog and the person or family wanting to adopt the dog will be a good match.
I have had Ellie for 2 and 1/2 years now. She's my family, my joy, my companion, Thank you Karen and Mike, and a big thank you to the many fosters and volunteers!
Please help Love of Littles by donating time, your home, or financially, when you can. We need more amazing Rescue groups like Love of Littles!
