Review for Action In Community Through Service of Prince William County, Dumfries, VA, USA
We first became aware of ACTS through our church when we moved to Prince William County, VA. We were young with young children and not much money to spare, so we donated to the thrift stores and food drives. Realizing that we were alleviating the hunger and suffering of our own neighbors, as opposed to the poor in general, we eventually made ACTS one of our permanent/monthly charitable contributions. It is satisfying and reassuring to "help at home". As our exposure to the many programs and volunteers grew, we were and are routinely impressed with the dignity with which the "clients" are afforded as well as the actual aid. Our family could not be more satisfied with the results of our contributions.

At the ACTS thrift store, both the customers and the donors are treated with respect and dignity. Always a sincere gratitude expressed for the donations that I would PAY them to take!!!

Personally, I do not have the experience or full knowledge of all of ACTS programs, so I could not make a suggestion as to overall improvements. My experience with the thrift store shows it to be professional, clean, organized and respectful. The food bank feeds so many...more than I thought possible. Impressive.
