Review for Accessia Health, Midlothian, VA, USA
I was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy in 2014. I had node what was happening to me. After a rare disease blood test, I found that I have a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy called Pompe Disease. Soon, I felt that I needed help so I contacted the MDA.They could not help me. They said that they only help fund research programs. They don't help us directly. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Wwe need direct help, not just lip service. Somehow, I found this organization and it's been a lifesaver. The first year was very limited funding as well as the second year, but after that, the donations must have grown because they've been helping so much mo. I needed to get around and something trust worthy to go to doctor visits. Medicare wanted to give me an "In home" piece of junk that would cost $10K. It couldn't go outside and it could go 2 mph or 4 mph. It had to be charged every few hours. Because of you, I was able to get a trike that could get 35 miles per charge, go up to 16 mph, and I was able to drive it on the bike path to go to my doctors that are almost all within 2 to 2.5 miles from my house. I am able to use it to go there and actually go into the doctors office. This has brought so much peace to my life not having to worry about how to get to my doctors and rely or burden others to help me. They've helped with many other things such as seat cushions so I don't get sitting soars and leg coverings so I can actually take a shower while keeping my legs wrapped. I was able to get an upright walker that I couldn't have gotten otherwise. My back had been killing me from being hunched over that old fashioned walker but within 3 days of using the upright walker, my back was much better. The quality of life has been 100% better and I have been telling people that if they want their donations to ACTUALLY matter, go to Accesia Health. Not only do they make life bearable, but they make it worth living again. Thank you Access Health.
