I started volunteering at the Wild Horse Sanctuary in 2007. I was so impressed with the commitment of the founders, board members, and other volunteers to ensuring wild horses and burros have a safe home to live as nature intended, I have committed a great deal of my life since then to ensuring the mission of the Sanctuary is carried out forever! The Sanctuary is unique - first wild horse sanctuary in the U.S., we welcome visitors from across the nation and the world for tours and trail rides, encourage volunteerism and internships, offer education for the public, and host horse gentling clinics and and opportunities for mental health professionals to learn from our wild ones. I cannot say enough good things about this amazing organization and those who help (through donations, visitation, and volunteerism)!
