Last Mile 4D is unique in how it approaches the eradication of FGM (female genital mutilation). It uses technology, community training and intervention as a trifecta for attacking the root causes and cultural practices that support this unhealthy practice perpetrated on women. LM4D’s approach is built on a simple but powerful premise, which is that FGM is a silent crime that needs to have very loud and public voices raised against it. By bringing to the surface the extent of this crime waged on women and girls, locals consisting of families, community leaders and law enforcement can be mobilized against this pernicious practice. LM4D is worthy of continued support so that more girls and communities in Africa can be saved. The results they have achieved so far in Kenya are clear, proven and a clear path to continued support.
