Review for Accessia Health, Midlothian, VA, USA
As a patient with CML, diagnosed in 2013, I require a very expensive medication. With traditional market place insurance, my medication was taken care of. A few years ago I was put onto Medi-Care. With my Part D coverage, the out of pocket expenses became unaffordable, I was then able to qualify for and received assistance from Patient Services, now Accessia Health. In June they instituted electronic income verification. At that time I was immediately cut off from assistance with no explanation other than I fell outside of income guidelines. After dealing with customer service, I was told that the reported income was to high. It turns out that the income reported was in error and 2.5 times my actual income. I was told I could file income documentation and apply for reconsideration. After a few weeks, I was told I was still denied service. After talking with a manager, I was basically told i needed to prove why the reported income was wrong and to explain the discrepancy. For what ever reason, they can not give me the information needed to fix this. They tell me that the reporting is supplied by Experian Health. Although it is Experian, as far as i can tell, it is not the same as the credit reporting, and finding consumer contact information for Experian Health is not there. I would also suspect that getting false information removed is next to impossible. I hope that Accessia is able to find a more patient friendly way of dealing with situations like this.
Edit 10/15/2022 : Thank you to Kristin, Director of Operations, for looking into this and getting it resolved. I understand that new systems will present new problems to work out. Have been able to resume receiving my medication.
