Review for Project Linus, Belton, MO, USA
I have volunteered for Project Linus for 15 years. The blankets we give to children are priceless to them. We usually do not see the children who receive the blankets, we get letters or feedback from hospitals, shelters and pantries. Years later we still hear from people who have their Project Linus blanket and will not give it up. Our blankets bring so much joy and comfort to children. When I deliver blankets to our local shelter I hear so many amazing stories. One mother thanked me for a baby blanket. She only had Dad’s shirt to use as a blanket and it was falling apart. Another child saw me delivering blankets and begged me for one with rainbows. Her Mom said they had to leave in a hurry and they only had the clothes they were wearing and pleaded with me to let her have the blanket. The child got the blanket and just squeezed it until I left, the Mom had tears in her eyes while thanking me. There are so many stories but the best part about being a volunteer for Project Linus is knowing the happiness and love each child feels when getting one of our blankets.
