I have to admit that I never conceived of ever needing help with anything in my life. I was young and strong and , I guess, naive . Many years back, when my parents were still with me my father, a Navy Vet of WW2 started having trouble with his eyes. Like me he was a very independent person but soon it was evident that he needed medical care. I took him to the VA many times but at that time there really was nothing that could be done. I watched him stoically live with it as it gradually got worse and worse. When he passed he was legally blind and it was an awful thing to see. Then, eventually, I started having the same symptoms. First I had cataracts removed and that was a tremendous help. Eventually, though, I was diagnosed with macular degeneration myself and the memory of what my dad went through made me almost wish I would pass from this life before it progressed. I am a musician and an artist and I knew I would no longer be able to read music or paint. Two things pulled me out of that fright though. Not wanting to leave my wife here alone and a Retina Specialist in Orange county, NY that was wonderful. It was he that started the injections of Eylea but when I heard the cost my heart sank yet again. There was no way I could pay that price every two weeks and even when it would hopefully get to once every ten weeks it was really out of reach...if you remember I said "musician" lol. It was also he that introduced me to Good Days and the program they sponsor. I was able to sign up and I have been getting the injections ever since. I was also lucky to have had an instantly positive reaction to this drug. Good Days and it's donors are nothing less than a God-send. I have little doubt that if it wasn't for their help my situation would make me intolerable both to myself and to those around me...I pray almost every night and thank God for this company and their generous donors for this blessing of sight....Best Regards to them and all of you who, like me did, after all, need somebody's help ...Michael Matthew Heaphy
