Review for Serenity Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation, Maple Valley, WA, USA
I started working with Serenity around a year ago and I have loved every minute. It is hard work, and it can be tiring when you don't have many people on a shift, but spending time with the horses makes it all worth it. As a horse handler I arrive at 6 am on my Saturday shift and work with my fellow handlers to feed and bring out the horses. At around 8, we move to cleaning the barn and are typically done by 11 so long as we have three or four people on shift. Regular volunteers start at that 8 am point. You learn each horses personality very quickly, and love them each in their own special way.
