My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, Richmond, VA, USA
My first exposure with VCIC was a session they led as part of my participation in a 10-month leadership program in late 2016. Then I was in a VCIC-led DEI workshop at my job. I learned my employer was a donor; a colleague/friend served on its state board; and VCIC's President & CEO, Jonathan Zur, was serving as an advisor for the Governor's office as I was serving on one of its state advisory boards.
Given so many touchpoints with VCIC, I wanted to learn more so I started to volunteer, first as a facilitator. I was then invited to join one of its chapters in 2019. Three years later, I'm starting a second term on the chapter and my first term on its state board of directors.
VCIC embodies its mission to help drive inclusion in businesses, schools and communities proactively, and even reactively in times of crisis. VCIC has often taken the lead in bringing diverse communities together in solidarity after tragic events.
I am a very proud supporter of VCIC's staff and programs and believe many individuals and organizations could benefit from engaging with them.
