I just returned from *A Mother's Rest* respite at a beautiful bed and breakfast in New York state. What a tremendous gift. As a mother of a disabled child, I feel like the need for me to give and keep giving is constant and unrelenting. There is little time to give myself the space and nurturing that I need in order to keep being there for my child, and few supports that allow for it. It's hard to express how much it meant to have this respite, to have quiet and space and time to myself, to heal myself a little. I also had the companionship of other mothers who understood, where we could nurture and support each other.

*A Mother's Rest* recognized and validated my need to take care of myself, and my respite weekend reminded me that I am worthy of being cared for, as much as my child.
