Review for Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, Richmond, VA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC) is such a great organization dating back to 1935! VCIC is willing to help pave, mend, and guide Virginia's communities to a greater well-being. The organization achieves this by utilizing their established internal/external network, experience, and passion to bridge gaps, offer guidance to others/organizations and respectfully engage in dialogue to foster understanding. VCIC’s evidence-based practices and programs develop others who will then foster belonging so that no one (student or colleague) faces harassment. They approach every endeavor with kindness, respect & dialogue - opening the doors to growth in Commonwealth of Virginia’s communities!

Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC) has been a pillar in the high school's throughout Virginia. The Diversity Dialogue Days that VCIC facilitates focus on exploring topics covering bullying to socioeconomics with area high school students from a wide range of demographics (public, private, parochial, etc.). As a volunteer facilitator, I have witnessed the impact that these discussions have on the students - as they realize they struggle with some of the same issues - often new friends are made.
