i'm a volunteer who goes in once a week to spend time enriching the cats' experience with myself and the other cats through a variety of toys and interaction. this time is invaluable as is the time other volunteers spend. the cats in our facility have volunteers round the clock in two hour increments from 6am to 6pm. new cats are socialized according to their progress and are then released into the general population of "seasoned" cats and kittens. as we have 3 separate areas, each area allows the cats and kittens plenty of room to run and play, climb and jump, tunnel thru toys and rest in tents. they are also free to rest in their respective cages if desired. i also am a phone intake person who responds to individual calls, ranging from how to get a cat spayed or neutered to what to do if a cat or kitten has been found. although these calls can sometimes be difficult to answer, Peter Zippi has amassed a network of partners and suggestions that are very helpful to the average caller. the people who work at Peter Zippi is a family of the most caring individuals i have ever met. everyone has the same mentality - caring for the animals is the number one goal above all else. it's a place where all outside problems dissolve for who can't smile at watching kittens play all day!!
