Being a mom of a special needs child is one of those experiences no one understands until they live it. Going away for a weekend and meeting other moms who "get it" was a memorable experience I will always cherish, and hope to repeat! The rest, the camaraderie, the silence, the shared experience, the laughter and a chance to reflect over several days is AMAZING. The retreat can be whatever your heart desires it to be, because it is all about YOU! No plans, no demands, no to do lists. Just rest and an opportunity to have an adult experience with other caregivers in similar shoes. Andrea is a visionary for creating A Mother's Rest.
