Scarborough Inn in Ocean City, NJ was the perfect mother's respite weekend, this weekend for mothers with children with special needs. I went with Janet T. and met so many wonderful moms. We bonded in a split second over dinner, breakfast, porch time, winding now in the living room with the fireplace, games, cocktails, coffee, popcorn, cupcakes, chocolate pretzels, craft time, boardwalk, ocean, sunrise and on and on! Janet and I had a great time taking our walks on the boardwalk, enjoying lunches at Manco & Manco pizza and Ike's Famous Crabcakes, getting treats at Shriver's Salt Water Taffy and Johnson's popcorn, taking in the sunrise from the boardwalk/beach, and exploring Somers Point. Innkeeper Sne and assistant innkeeper Monica provided us with incredible hospitality, their impeccable attention to detail, and possessed the skill of listening, all with kindness and compassion. The public areas in the inn were decorated with interesting "antiques" (ha-for example a typewriter), the rooms were renovated to give off a modern design, and they were all clean.
The breakfasts were all presented beautifully and tasted delicious! Thank you for a wonderful time!
