Looked around on petfinder.com for a pit or pit mix puppy and came across an ad stating they had puppies with no pictures. So I put in an application to see more about them and I received a text message the next day with pictures of the 3 dogs stating they would be up for adoption on Saturday at BarK Park in Saint Louis... so we decided why not go for Hera or Athena and whoever we like more, will come home with us. Well, we ended up with both girls and renamed Hera to Artemis. But that isn't the bad part... we got them home and they stank like a sewer, were coughing nonstop, and were getting over some sort of skin issue. We took them to the vet 3 days later only to find out they had 3 kinds of worms including hookworms, were malnourished for a prolonged period of time, Athena had damage to her cornea, and they had upper respiratory infections. I think those pups would have died had we not taken the 2 that we could. It cost us over 1k in vet bills to get them healthy with at least 3 different kinds of meds and several baths. They also have some sort of previous trauma that has caused a temperament issue with them and people. I am fully convinced these dogs were a used and I was not disclosed any info on their health or predisposition alike. They are healthy and happy now with 2 older sisters, I just can't help stay up at night thinking about the boy we left behind... we can't save them all but we can spread the word on a faulty non profit. I am calling it as I see it, please adopt don't shop and don't use this rescue
