JCA runs a great program for people aged 50-plus who are re-entering the workforce or who want to change careers. It's called Career Gateway, and is very affordably priced at just $75. I was in a recent class conducted online, with 20 other students from varied backgrounds. The class included a binder of materials about the job hunt for older job seekers--including a roadmap for how to identify the best job for you, along with proven action steps about how to conduct your job search in a consistent and persistent manner. Prior to taking the class, my job hunt had been adrift. I now feel empowered to go after the job I really want and utilize a proven strategy to succeed at finding it. In addition, I took the four Career Tech programs offered by Career Gateway; these focused on LinkedIn, Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and just cost $60. The teachers were outstanding and all the coursework was conducted online. I found these classes to be an excellent way to sharpen my technology skills for the job search.
