My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for SPCA International, New York, NY, USA
SPCA International is a great organization helping animals all over the world. My experience with them, as that of a spokesperson for a homeless dog sanctuary in Russia, was remarkable. They were helpful, diligent in figuring out the specifics of the Russian rescue scene, and ended up offering an invaluable assistance to the sanctuary. Many people and formerly homeless dogs are very grateful. Thank you!

Review for Best Dawg Rescue Inc., Bethesda, MD, USA
DAWG has many devoted volunteers. However, in my experience, they can be unfair and discriminatory in their adoption criteria. They deny many good applications for dogs for purely subjective reasons, such as limited English proficiency, smoking, or no fence. As a result, many of their dogs languish in boarding, while other needy dogs cannot be rescued.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
DAWG has many devoted, animal-loving volunteers.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Change policies in favor of pro-active, creative policies that allow for rescue of far more dogs than are rescued now.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Working directly with the dogs.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
People devoted to rescuing dogs but also arrogant towards people not as knowledgeable about dogs as they are.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
It has lots of bucks but it uses them to board dogs long-term because they deny a lot of applications.
Ways to make it better...
DAWG had more reasonable adoption policies and better people skills.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Their members' attitudes.
