I have been donating to Curamericas Global for many years because they are very effective in saving the lives of women and children in Guatemala, Liberia, and Kenya. They started out in Guatamala and have expanded to Liberia and Kenya. They are a small organization that spends every dollar wisely by partnering with local groups and governmental agencies. For example, in the last 3 years in Maya communities in the remote Cuchumatanes Mountains in Guatemala, they have partnered with governmental and local groups to help create a viable local health system with community birthing centers that have reduced maternal deaths by 79% and neonatal deaths by 38%! And in Kisii County in western Kenya, maternal deaths were reduced by 100% and neonatal deaths by 42% in the first 3 years of their project working with the Ministry of Health and local communities, serving 36,000 people in three areas. And they do so much more. They work diligently to make sure that every dollar is used to maximize their efforts to save the lives of women and children.

In this day and age, no pregnant woman or child should be dying, but way too many do because of poverty and inadequate/inaccessible health care. Curamericas Global effectively helps fill that void by working with local community groups and governmental entities to save many lives. I highly recommend them.
