Review for Habitat For Horses Inc, Alvin, TX, USA
Habitat for Horses (HFH) is one of the largest horse rescue organizations in the United States. Currently HFH is caring for over 250 horses. Many of these horses came to HFH extremely malnourished, near death, and subjected to terrible cruelty. Through the expert and loving care provided by HFH, most will recover and many will go on to be adopted into caring homes.
Miracles happen every day at HFH. Horses that once were afraid of humans come to welcome a gentle human touch and presence. Horses that have never tasted carrots or other treats now get them...along with a lot of love. Horses that were abused come to know what it means to be cared for and treated with respect and dignity.
All of this work is done with a minimal staff and a very dedicated Executive Director, Rebecca Williams. One of the hallmarks of her leadership is financial responsibility and accountability. Rebecca very prudently manages every dollar that HFH receives, making sure that every expenditure is necessary. Nothing is wasted. Prudent management is just one of her many gifts that she uses every day to make sure the horses receive the best care possible.
