When I made the choice to get my first horse at the age of 51, I decided to look into a rescue horse. Habitat had some great reviews so I started talking to them about it and made an appointment to go check out my options. I drove three hours to try and find the perfect horse for me. The trainer was very patient with me while she brought out and I rode several horses. I didn’t click with any of them so she sent me to their other facility down the road. They had one horse there that was suitable for me and she turned out to be perfect. I cannot say enough about the trainers and the people that run Habitat. They were all very patient, they care deeply for the horses and you can tell their mission of rescuing horses is something they do not take lightly. If I were to get another horse, Habitat is the first place I will look.
