We have rescued our two weimaraners through GLWR. Both dogs have been absolute treasures to us. They do a lot with very little funds and a great volunteer network. Our second dog, Mac, was improperly cared for after being run over by a vehicle from his previous family. He was carrying one of his hind legs around and couldn't use it when he got to the rescue a little over a year old. They were encouraged to put him down but were able to get his leg amputated and he recovered wonderfully. He is a hoot and lives a very happy life. These are amazing dogs that need a lot of affection and unfortunately a lot of people get them without realizing the commitment. I don't know what we'd do without their efforts.
