I learned about the Pet Resource Center of KC at their annual gala five years ago and love their mission! Not only have I volunteered time on the advisory council and at a pet food drive, but thanks to a feral cat in our neighborhood, I also got firsthand experience from the client side. Taking the cat to my vet and spending hundreds of dollars for a neuter surgery wasn't an option (I had four indoor cats at the time) so PRCKC provided an economical way to fix this boy. Their team was great to work with and the quality of care was identical to what the cat would have received with my vet.
