Review for Pooch Savers Rescue, DALLAS, TX, USA

Rating: 5 stars

PSR, Is one of the best rescues!!! Passionate, dedicated and committed, they work, 24/7. It’s never ending, effortless, and REPEAT!!! My experience with, PSR, has been very touching & heart-felt.

I came across a very sick & dying. One year old dog. Skin and bounds, very malnourished, this dog could not even lay down because she is so thin. Her body only allowed her to sit. This dog had been badly abused. So I took her in my home (with my three other dogs) And spent 8 months To completely rehabilitate her. Her name is Polly. At the time I found her. She had scars all over her paws and a big one by her eye. She has 107.3 fever. With bacterial pneumonia. So I had to train her and get her strong and healthy with nutrition.I believed in Polly and that she was going to make it through!! She went from being 30 pounds to 65 or 70 pounds. Which is where her weight should’ve been in the first place. Overtime I built a very strong bond with her!! Before I knew it she was happy, healthy and loving her new life. I couldn’t keep her. As much as I wanted to. I began looking for rescues that I was trying to find a place for her. So Polly could find her forever home. I reached out to numerous rescues everywhere, Texas, & out of Texas. No rescue could help me or even responded back to me. I wanted to give up & felt I had no hope at all.
Randomly one day I walked into Petsmart and saw, PSR, in the back. I shared my 13 month story with Scott and Lisa. And what I had been through. They’re the first rescue that wanted to help me and Polly.Even though they could not take her in as one of their dogs. They told me I was more than welcome to bring Polly up to their adoption events & they would try to help me get Polly adopted. This meant the world to me. Just them caring enough and wanting to help me. Got me through this experience. Polly was a very big dog… But… A very loyal, Playful and sweet girl!!Highly rambunctious and it was going to take a very special family for her to find her forever home.

*** (Keep in mind I have now had Polly for 13 months.Energy level is outrageously high. And I was desperately trying to find a place for her. she was really stressing me out. And everybody around me kept telling me to take her to the shelter. But I knew what would happen and there’s no way I was going to allow that. Not after her one year of life has been for her.)

I made a promise to Polly at the ER. I said,” if you fight for your life, I will fight for you. And take you home to help you recover.” This was a very emotional time for me being at the ER with her. The veterinarian wanted me to euthanize her. “Saying, “She’s not gonna make it through the day, I’m surprise she’s alive. She’s not worth the money spending on to save her.” I was quoted $4 or 5k to treat her.I wasn’t going to put her down. I wanted to give her an opportunity to see if her body would fight and recover at the ER. And to everybody’s amazement she pulled through the night and I brought her home the next morning.

So for the next 13 months I kept my promise and kept fighting to find her a place to live. For a family to love on her. She deserves the best& to the fullest! Having Polly up at these adoption events. Brought me so much hope!! I am very thankful and grateful for Scott and Lisa, graciously, Allow me to bring Polly to these events. Polly’s story does have a happy ending. Another rescue in a different state. Heard about Polly. And they drove down to Texas to come get her. And I’m happy to report she’s living a very happy, happy, wonderful life in Minnesota!!

The more I got to know Scott and Lisa. I can honestly say, “This is one highly commendable, Honorable and respectable, rescue.”Every dog they bring in becomes their family! They’ve been faithful and very loyal to the call!! And they keep on going. They care so much about what they do & it shows! It’s very extraordinary how they’re able to do this every day.

I enjoy going to the adoption events on the weekends. Their is a Contagious energy. So much love goes on at these events. They are making a difference. It brings so much positivity & hope. And with the world we live in today. We ALL our seeking for this.

Thanks PSR, for all you do!!! You guys do so much!!! It takes a special kind of person to be in the rescue, industry, doing what you guys do every day!!!

Kindest regards,

Melissa
