Review for 2000 Strong Youth For Christ, Carrollton, TX, USA

As a founding board member, I have been involved with 2000 Strong Youth for Christ at an intimate and personal level. All board members as well as others involved are volunteers, and almost all of us have regular jobs. Hence, we could probably all say that we wish we could have given this endeavor more time, but in reality and in all honesty, I believe that I and others have sacrificed and given about as much as humanly possible. We're planning for our 5th annual summer camp right now, and it's an awesome feeling to be able to look back and see what has been accomplished. Having said that, I also know I can say that I could have always done more, and we might have done things differently. It is my heartfelt belief that we'll never really comprehend the much of the fruits of our labors; however, what we do see excites us and motivates us to do even more for the young people who are the recipients of the work of 2000 Strong.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

. . . feedback from our campers, staff and parents, and the feeling and edification that comes from knowing one has been part of something bigger than oneself.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

. . . find a way to fund-raise greater financial contributions so that every young person who wants to attend camp can come regardless of personal financial situations.

Role:  Board Member & I and my fellow board members began a Christian youth camp for young people; I have been co-director, have helped plan and organize, and have been an instructor all five years we've held the camp.
