Review for For Pete's Sake Cancer Respite Foundation, Plymouth Meeting, PA, USA
When I think about For Pete’s Sake I think about so many things…the people I met also coming for respite, Marci, Mariann. It was such a wonderful week to mentally and physically rest from doctors appointments, treatment, responsibilities. I was diagnosed with stage 3 Triple Negative breast cancer in June 2020. I was told on the mammogram screening everything looked fine and normal. I wasn’t so sure., and then it hit, all the tests and biopsies. I was in a mental spin and I couldn’t stop it. I then started chemo in July 2020 through November 2020, then three surgeries and then six weeks of radiation in April 2021. It was during a radiation appointment that I was told about For Pete’s Sake. I couldn’t believe it. I wanted the mental and physical rest so much. I’m so thankful to those who have made it possible for me and my mom to have a week at Woodloch. To spend that week in a relaxed environment at the lake has given me a renewed strength. I can’t imagine a better place to go, Woodloch was the best. Thank you so much to For Pete’s Sake. Leslie
