Review for For Pete's Sake Cancer Respite Foundation, Plymouth Meeting, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

A few years ago, I was diagnosed with stage three colon cancer and had part of my colon surgically removed. Presently, the colon cancer has metastasized to my liver. Over the years the physical and emotional stress has had a tremendous impact on me and my husband‘s life. I was so overwhelmed that I was not living my life, I was just existing, consumed by cancer. Then, along came For Pete Sake‘s Cancer Respite Foundation. They sent us to an all inclusive respite at Woodloch, in the Poconos. There, we experienced, welcoming hospitality, great food, amazing views of the lake and lots of fun and excitement. FPS has been a God’s sent blessing for us. Marci set out to fulfill Pete’s dream and by doing so, she has sincerely given me and so many others, an experience of a lifetime, full of cherished memories, relaxation, rejuvenation, and new friends, who shared their journeys as well. In addition to it all, FPS sent us to see the Philadelphia Flyers game, with seats in Captain Claude Giroux’s personal box/suite and a free parking pass. FPS respite is a gift that keeps giving, with all kinds of events lined up to bring us all together again, like one big happy family. FPS respite has given me tranquility. I now have the peace of mind to move forward on my journey, with a whole new perspective, living my life. I will always hold dear to my heart, this generous, God-given gift from, For Pete’s Sake Respite. The attached picture shows me standing on top of a rock at Woodloch, feeling like I was standing on top of the world. We thank you, Marci and FPS respite for giving us an amazing opportunity to, “TAKE A BREAK FROM CANCER” and for “WRAPPING US UP IN LOVE”
I thank you for helping me to recognize it is love, not cancer that defines me.
