I can't be more thankful for finding Hand in Hand parenting. I've used these parenting strategies and tools for many years and I'm so glad to have them in my and my families life. My current experience has been to use this work to support my Son with his transition to secondary school. I was so worried about his time and whether I would be able to support my Son as my schooling was a traumatic experience therefore I'm triggered by my child's very normal anxieties and was worried I'd be too overwhelmed to support him. The Hand in Hand Parenting tools gave me something to reach for. I used their tool of listening time over the summer to help myself deal with my feelings and fears for my child. I used and am continuing to use their listening and connection strategies to aid our bond and deal with the stressors of homework, his anxieties and fears about fitting in as he moves into tween and teen years. Hand in Hand parenting gives me strategies to reach for whatever is going on in my family. I now teach these tools to parents as this work feels like the missing information that can help all communities and families the world over.
