This is an incredible organisation that gives parents practical and emotionally intelligent ways to support their parenting, their child’s emotional health and well-being and tackle difficulties. As a clinical psychologist specialising in child mental health, I became passionate about the prevention of mental health difficulties. And so I was delighted to discover Hand in Hand both as a professional and as a parent myself. The Hand in Hand tools are backed up by well-evidenced theory and research in attachment theory and neuroscience (interpersonal neurobiology) and provide both an overall map and specific practices to build connection with your child, get support for yourself as a parent and to support your child with difficult emotions and behaviour in a way that actually enhances your connection with them and builds their emotional resilience.
