It all started one Sunday afternoon while driving. I was admiring the local greenery when I spotted a wee little white bunny. He was all alone walking towards the street with 3 cats headed towards him!! We pulled over and without much effort scooped up the little guy, Axel. That is how I became another bunny obsessed "who knew they were so full of personality" person. After a few months, complete home remodel to accommodate Sir Axel, and a snip snip at the vet I was ready to find him a partner.

I reached out to a couple of rescues including Bunny buddies. I chose to adopt through them because I felt other organizations were not as concerned with ensuring a great fit or as understanding in my caution for bringing home an additional bunny. As luck would have it, not only did they hold my hand through the whole process, but they selected the absolute perfect sweetheart bun to bond with Axel. Maybe it wasn't so much luck but a fantastic organization of knowledgeable people!

I brought home Maggie Mae along with a generous offer of additional supplies to borrow ensuring a successful bond. During the bonding process they were always available anytime I had questions regarding specific behaviors and provided suggestions to help. Axel and Maggie are now living in harmony running around the entire house. Maggie has taught Axel how to drink more water and eat from the hay stack while Axel is teaching her how to love humans and not be so scared to jump on their lap for attention.

I would highly recommend Bunny buddies to everyone seeking a first time pet or growing the family!
