Review for Serenity Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation, Maple Valley, WA, USA
I have been a volunteer at Serenity for almost a year now. My time there is the highlight of my week! My reasons for volunteering were to up my level of horsemanship and to do something worthwhile in my retirement. I’d say my goals were rather small compared to my experiences! I’m learning so much from Patricia and her team of Leads, with their mentorship and support. And worthwhile? Loving, caring, and providing for these wonderful horses and piggies is beyond worthwhile. It is an honor to keep them safe, healthy, clean, and secure in love. And the crew of volunteers here is my community, especially during the COVID lockdown. But the best thing about being at Serenity is the relationship with the horses: knowing their stories, seeing them come back to health, watching their personalities come out and flourish, and earning their trust. Caring for horses is an expensive venture, and at Serenity the horses often need more extensive vet care and medication than is typical and Patricia insists the horses get all they need. Please consider a visit to the Rescue, and consider donating to Serenity.
