Review for The Trevor Project, Inc., West Hollywood, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

There are many GLBT non profits out there-- some political, some activist-- and many times you can't agree with their entire mission. But with the Trevor Project, it's impossible not to identify with its mission. Every one of us, at some point of another, have felt like Trevor. We've felt alone and unwanted. This organization is here to show everyone they are not alone and not only wanted, but loved. When I hear the stories of the lives we save... yes, the lives we SAVE, it gives me chills.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the numbers of phone calls answered, the number of lives saved, and the number of thank you notes sent on the part of survivors or surviving family members.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

push for more national TV exposure.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the organization is still grass roots enough that you still hear a heartfelt "thank you." I got a personalized thank you note signed by the entire staff.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

enthusiastic, hard working, dedicated and team players.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

save even more lives.

Ways to make it better...

there were a few more staff members to help with projects.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

fundraising and reaching the kids who need it the most.

One thing I'd also say is that...

this is one of the most efficiently run non profits I've seen, and has the most enviable volunteer program around.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009
