I work with a few different rescues, and not just with horses. H4H has the most amazing group of volunteers and they have the biggest hearts out there. Some volunteers have been there for years and years. Their love for and dedication to these horses is like no other.
In times of uncertainty, when donations are low and feed prices are high, in rain and sweltering heat, nothing stops these amazing people from taking great care of these horses. I’ve seen skin and bone horses near death brought back to a healthy and happy life first hand. Everyone praying and pulling together to help those horses. And when the unfortunate happens we all grieve together. And boy do we grieve.
To see what this rescue does for these horses is so beautiful and amazing. If they had more money to do the things they wish they could , would make they invincible. Keep up the great work everyone!

I started volunteering at H4H a couple of years ago. I just love what Anita has done/does for these horses. From off the track rehab, to injured, starved and neglected horses, she has done such an amazing job. I have personally witnessed the life come back to a horse after being neglected and skin and bones. The horse didn’t give up and neither did Anita. And now Maya is such a beautiful and happy girl. These horses are cared for with love and kindness and the best care they could ask for.
Anita is so dedicated to saving the lives of these horses and wants for nothing in return. The dedication Anita has for these horses to have a second chance at life is truly amazing.
