Tickets for Kids brought family groups to the Science Museum throughout our Year of the Engineer. Families from groups that are traditionally underrepresented at the museum, and that perhaps had never been to the museum, were invited through Tickets for Kids to bring their children here for special engineering experiences. One Saturday for example, we were showing the Omnitheater Film called Dream Big: Engineering our World and one of the featured engineers from the film was here for it's opening. We partnered with Tickets For Kids and some of their community groups to have a special meet and greet with a select group of girls with engineer Menzer Pehlivan. She told them all about her experience becoming an engineer and getting picked to be featured in this Omnitheater film. It was one of those really inspiring events where you could see the delight of the young girls connecting with Ms. Pehlivan in a small group, asking her questions and watching the film with her story with her.
