We searched a number of local and on-line dog rescue sites after our dog passed. Although we live in north Metro, it was worth the drive to Henry County where we adopted a dog that was just perfect for us. HCHS staff spend time with the animals so you have a good idea about the temperament, age, general health of the dog under consideration and whether it would be a good fit. Our little rescue was a delight. After she passed, we returned to HCHS and adopted another dog which has been another totally positive experience. It was worth the drive!!!!! Loving, caring folks!
