Review for Ten Lives Cat Rescue, Pawtucket, RI, USA
I have been a foster, volunteer and adopter with Ten Lives Cat Rescue since 2018. It has been one of the most amazing experiences to have had the opportunity to watch Ten Lives grow from 2018 to present. I continue to be constantly BLOWN AWAY by the work that Ten Lives does. Every year since inception, Ten Lives has saved even more cats than the prior year (including during the pandemic!) I genuinely cannot recommend a more worthy, non-profit rescue to volunteer with. If you want to support a hardworking, reputable rescue that constantly goes above and beyond--look no further than TLCR!
Ten lives has amazing leadership with BIG goals for the future. Ten Lives functions as a close-knit team and is comprised of some of the most caring, kindhearted, compassionate, self-less and giving humans that I have ever met. I am constantly blown away by the level of support, encouragement, and teamwork displayed. Volunteers care not only about TLCR's cats, but also about each other.
One of the most inspiring things to me is the fact that Ten Lives says YES to helping the most vulnerable cats who are in the greatest need of help. These are cats other rescues or shelters turn away due to costs and resources required (such as seniors, very ill cats, bottle-fed kittens, etc). Ten Lives was founded due to this massive, unmet need.
In my personal experience, Ten Lives spent over $3,000 for one of my senior fosters for a surgery to vastly enhance his quality of life, knowing he was still worthy of experiencing a full quality life, even at age 14. (Which was in addition to covering an 800+ dental too for him—and only charging a $125 adoption fee). Ten Lives constantly goes above and beyond, covering dental surgery for dozens of cats (something no other rescue, to my knowledge, covers) as well as specialist visits if needed. Every decision made, from medical care, to approving a final adopter, centers around what is in the best interest of each individual cat.
Volunteering with Ten Lives has truly been one of the best decisions that I have ever made. I am so grateful for all the new friends I have made, the knowledge I have gained, and the growth I have experienced.
