When we decided to get a dog, we knew it would be tough as we were in the middle of the pandemic and everyone wanted a dog! We were also getting a dog because my mom had moved in with us, and her large lab mix couldn’t join her in our small, Queens apartment. I started looking on Petfinder, and submitted several applications. And then I found Brandy (now Ciara), an older mini schnauzer. I knew she was our dog. She was already pending adoption, but then that fell through, and as soon as she reappeared on Petfinder, I emailed/texted/called Friends with Four Paws! Nina, the adoption coordinator, was wonderful to work with, and she made it easy. We did a virtual home visit with the foster, and then we were off to pick up our new pup! I always say that nothing in life is perfect, and yet… Ciara has been the perfect dog for us. We are so grateful to Friends with Four Paws. We will continue to support their work, and would absolutely adopt or foster from them in the future.
