Review for CenterLink: The Community of LGBT Centers, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

What an exceptional experience I've had with CenterLink! I run an organization named Prism United that serves LGBTQ youth in Southwest Alabama. CenterLink has singlehandedly been the most important resource in my career as the founding executive director of a nonprofit. They have connected me with relevant fundraising and grant opportunities, and (my favorite thing about them) they have spent so many hours on virtual calls giving me invaluable mentorship on how to grow my organization. Since Prism United became a CenterLink member, its operational budget has grown from $30k to $120k+ in a matter of a couple years. They have been a game-changer for us. I couldn't be more grateful.

Review for CenterLink: The Community of LGBT Centers, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I'm a co-founder and the executive director of a small nonprofit on the Alabama Gulf Coast that serves LGBTQ youth. I started corresponding with CenterLink a couple years ago, and I can say without exaggeration that CenterLink has had a formative impact on my organization. They've supported us with resources, consultations, inclusion in nation-wide training and fundraising opportunities, and so much more. When I started doing this work, I had no clue what it really meant to run a nonprofit. CenterLink has given me the confidence to know that I can do the work. Even though they serve centers all over the country, their CEO and director of operations took the time to speak directly with my board and me about a major endeavor that we're working toward. They didn't charge us for their consultation—they gave us an hour of their highly-constructive, experience-informed wisdom, free of charge. They're in it for the right reasons, and you can tell. I've also had the pleasure of having Deborah Levine, director of YouthLink, as a mentor for the last couple years. I could go on and on about the value of our monthly, hour-long sessions. Her mentorship has been an absolute treasure to me and my organization. If you're running a program or a nonprofit that does work for the LGBTQ community, join the CenterLink network. It was one of the best decisions we ever made.
