Review for Wounded Warriors Family Support, Omaha, NE, USA

Rating: 1 stars

I was so excited to get selected to go to the Veterans Welding program. Unfortunately after applying for the program my wife had a severe stroke. They were very helpful in getting me in touch with Visiting Angels to come to my house 5 days a week to help my wife while I was gone for the six-week program. I decided to fly back home every weekend to be with her though. They never asked my household income to be part of the program, but after being accepted to the program and making all the arrangements they asked for my tax returns which I immediately supplied them with. After telling me and arranging for Visiting Angels to take care of my wife, they decided to not pay for all of the services they agreed to pay for. I would have gladly paid for Visiting Angels myself if they had not offered. Either they want to honor my service-connected disabilities or they do not. Is it based on my total household income or is based on my service. You decide. If they only want to help out because a veteran is poor, they should state that. Telling a vendor that they are not going to pay them after arranging the service themselves is not an honorable thing to do. I was never even told by them that they were not going to pay Visiting Angles. I had to get the call from the vendor myself. I did get them taken care of without the help of WWFS. I am very disheartened by this. And by the way, the Veterans Welding Program was not full. They still have many seats available for other Veterans to go. I am not sure why they didn't have a full program. The Ford Technical Training Center in Detroit and its instructors were amazing. Very disappointed that WWFS was not forthcoming with income requirements.
