I was at my wits end trying to figure out how I was going to pay to have my fur kids shipped from Hawaii to Florida during a pandemic, with limited funds, and one fur baby who is special needs (a lot of medical issues). I was advised by family members to just leave them behind, but I couldn’t. They’re my responsibility, and I’ve had them for 9 and 5 years. In a leap of faith I stumbled across the SPCA grant for assisting military members abroad. I applied, and anxiously waited to hear if we were accepted. I cried when I got the email that we were accepted through phase one, and to continue onto phase two. 2 months after I’ve applied, I just received a cash amount in my PayPal to help pay for my dogs flights over. I can’t thank you enough, this charity allowed my family to stay together, and I’ll never forget you! Mahalo Nui Loa
