One of the hardest things about being a college student with disabilities is that it feels like you constantly have to prove that you can succeed in school, especially in a demanding path like pre-med. Not only does the PAF scholarship help me financially, but it reminds me everyday that someone believes in me and my goals. PAF’s support means the world to me and my family as well as the chronic illness community. I was lucky enough to speak at PAF’s event in February, 2019 as a scholarship recipient and the support for students like me was overwhelming. I’ve had a challenging undergrad so far because of my health and moments like the PAF event give me the support I need to keep going.
